The life that we live

I am 33 years old and have been overweight for five years due to medications. I have struggled with my weight since my medications were stablized. I have been trying to loose weight, eating right and exercising but some how the weight won’t come off so I have decided to try to get approval from my insurance company for lap band surgery. I did a lot of research before I made this decision and knew from the start it would not be an easy thing to get my insurance company to approve the surgery. See in the most common way I am not eligible. You are supposed to be 100 lbs over weight and 40 body mass index I am not either. I need some other requirements to be met before I am eligible such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, diabetes, sleep apnea, or many other things.

I am healthy aside from the weight but my doctor wanted me tested for sleep apnea. I went in the other night and am waiting for my next appointment to find out what degree I have sleep apnea but I do have it. This could mean that I qualify for the surgery. Now comes the hard stuff. I have to fight for approval from my insurance company to pay for the surgery. This could be a long fight but I think I am ready for it. I plan to keep you all posted as I learn more.
